It started, as many great things do, at a motorcycle show. Across a sea of headlights and handlebars, Sam's unforgettable patchwork pants and Lindsay's dry wit sparked a conversation. As it happened, some mutual friends corralled us into a nearby photo booth and the day was documented by a strip of four goofy images which would live in Sam’s truck visor for months to come. Almost a year later, a little bird told us both that the other was single and the memory of that conversation, the legacy of the photo strip, necessitated at least one date! One date turned into three--in one week! Over those first seven days we had drinks at The Holbrooke, played darts at the Nevada Club, and walked our dogs in Conden Park. We quickly realized how easy it was to be together. Soon, we were inseparable.

It didn’t take long for us to know we wanted to build a life together — dreaming up our future stone house, growing a garden, and creating a home filled with the things we love. Herb and Chula, our dogs, top the list of "things" we love. They keep us smiling with their big personalities and they keep us moving with their endless energy!  Herb even played a starring role in Sam’s proposal, delivering Lindsay’s ring by way of his harness on a walk in the same park we visited in our first week together. After walks you can find us happily losing hours in the garden together, tending our tomatoes, artichokes, herbs, wildflowers and the ever growing number of potted plants ready to travel with us to our someday home. If we aren’t in the garden we are probably in our tiny house where Lindsay is mixing up botanical cocktails, infusions, and fermenting, while Sam is scheming and building new ways to organize our lives (check out our cabinets and shoe rack!). If we’re not in the garden, or building our world together at home, we’re probably at The National Bar where Lindsay brings her experimentation to the masses and Sam doodles love notes on hotel postcards to pass to her while she works. Otherwise, we’re out in our community enjoying our weekly sandwich at Bicycle Thief, helping friends with home improvement projects, playing dice or savoring river hangs with our friends.

Wherever we are, and whatever we are up to, our relationship is rooted in kindness, curiosity, creativity, and a lot of laughter. We support each other’s dreams and feel lucky to have found someone who makes everyday life more fun. Even our wedding planning became a chance to create together, turning the process into fun DIY projects and shared memories (check out our invitations and stay tuned for some puppets!).  

We can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of our next adventure laughing and creating memories with you all, the people we love most!
